Given,
Total strength of class = 50
Sivaram's rank from the last = 15

Let's assume Visal's rank from the start be "x".

Then,
Visal's rank - Sivaram's rank = 8

=> x - (50 - 15 + 1) = 8 [as Sivaram's rank is given from the last]

=> x - 36 = 8

=> x = 8 + 36

=> x = 44

Therefore, Visal's rank from the start is 44.

Hence, the correct answer is (e) None of these.
